The Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Accessibility (DEIA) Network, a joint initiative by the European Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and the European Women Management Development (EWMD) Network, is proud to present a special event under the "Stories We Tell" series in celebration of International Women’s Day 2025.

Through storytelling on social media and in-person events in Hong Kong and Europe, we aim to highlight the power of language in shaping business environments and to foster inclusivity. Our goal is to bring a diverse audience together to celebrate everyone’s voices, break barriers, and design a future where we all belong.

Event Focus: ‘Stories We Tell: “Don’t think of an elephant” and “Have You Had Your Lunch?'

Language matters. The words we choose shape our reality, influence our impact, and define who is heard. In business and leadership, framing is everything—yet real meaning operates at a subconscious level. What are the dominant narratives in today’s corporate world, and who controls them? How do cultural and gender perspectives shape the way we communicate?

Why Attend?
  • Explore how language and framing affect leadership, decision-making, and inclusion.
  • Understand how cross-cultural narratives influence workplace dynamics and communication.
  • Engage in an interactive dialogue on how to redefine stories for greater impact and elevate diverse voices.
