Event Description

EWMD Asia-Pacific "Global Supply Chains - what can we do to make them more sustainable and transparent?"

On Thursday, September 23rd at 08:30 - 09:45 CET
14:30 - 15:45 Hong Kong Time

Globalization in the last half century transformed supply chains, enabling more manufacturing to take place than ever before. In the apparel and footwear industry, cheaper labour and advanced technology in factories lead to an industry boom. Not all impacts were positive. The further supply chains moved away from consumer countries and brand owners, an increasing lack of transparency was born. In recent years, incidents of human rights abuses, environmental degradation and carbon footprint associated with global transportation of goods has educated consumers in the need for a more sustainable industry. Are the auditing systems set up to improve sustainability effective? How are the newly established supply chains laws impacting manufacturers?

Join this online event organized from EWMD Asia Pacific on Thursday, September 23rd, from 08:30 CET (14:30 Hong Kong Time) and let's exchange together with the distinguished speakers on what can we do make global supply chian more sustainable and transparent.
